There is much impressive landscape and many historical places along this route. In the village of Bomsdorf, there is a manor house with domestic offices from the 18th century. The adjacent well tended manor park, with its ponds and mighty old trees, is under a preservation order. Here can be found the graves of the last owners of the manor. Inside the church, which was enlarged in 1730, there are some baroque decorative elements. From here you can reach the valley of the Dorche brook, which belongs to one of the most popular walking areas in the Schlaubetal Nature Park. Schwerzko Mill is also located here: this technological monument today houses a mill museum and is well worth a visit – the presentations are particularly rewarding. Near the village of Henzendorf, an “Erratic Block Park” contains many interesting glacial erratics, and a path of old scripts, Germanic runes, Celtic and Hittite stone images, and sculptures lead visitors into the past. The houses in the village of Reicherskreuz have been built from such erratics, and the place is under a preservation order. Reicherskreuz Heath was once a military training area. Today it’s a thirty-square-kilometre nature reserve. Particularly attractive in the month of May are the yellow broomflowers that grow here, and in September the violet heather displays a sea of flowers.
