Six lakes in one day
When there are six natural lakes in a row on a cycle tour, there is nothing to stop you looking forward to the excursion. This even increases with the hint of another advantage: the water quality of the lakes is excellent. This means that the lake tour with start and finish in Guben in Lower Lusatia can be interrupted or even crowned with a dip in the cool water at any time. In addition, the clean water guarantees a great wealth of nature in the lakes and on their shores. Waterfowl, storks and many other animals can be easily observed on the way or during a rest in the countryside.
But the route also offers insights into history. These are already available at the start in Guben, whose streets still bear witness to the once proud city of the textile industry. It is only a stone's throw from here to Poland, as only the Neisse River separates the double city of Guben-Gubin. Between the lakes are many villages worth seeing.
