On the move around Gubin

Start off in Gubin head­ing towards Komorow, a vil­lage from the thir­teenth cen­tury that is home to one of the Gubin area’s nat­ural mon­u­ments, a four-cen­tury-old elm tree with a cir­cum­fer­ence of more than seven metres. Via Walow­ice you reach Chle­bowo with its inter­est­ing church. From here it is pos­si­ble to make a detour to the River Oder and take a ferry to Polecko. Con­tinue to the street vil­lage of Lomy. If you’re look­ing for some refresh­ment, turn off along nat­ural paths to the tran­quil Lake Glebno. The vil­lage of Kosarzyn is near the estu­ary of the River Neiße into the Oder, in the Krzesin Nature Reserve. Here you’ll find the Meet­ing Cross, erected as a sym­bol of Ger­man-Pol­ish coop­er­a­tion. An old weir on the estu­ary of the River Lomi­anka into the Oder will impress any­one inter­ested in tech­nol­ogy. The nearby Lake Borek is an ideal spot for a break with its bathing area and restau­rant. The tour con­tin­ues via Zytowan and Budo­raz to Gubin. If you fol­low the cycle path you will get to the The­atre Island in Gubin. Here rem­nants of columns and the mar­ble pil­lars of the mon­u­ment to Corona Schröter recount the town’s his­tory.
