The circular walk begins at the small peninsula that projects into Lake Göhlensee. From there the trail follows the yellow dot. Lake Göhlensee is about two kilometres long and 45 hectares in size. It nestles in a valley setting, surrounded by slopes with a rich and varied tree population. Collectors come from far afield to this densely wooded area to look for mushrooms at the mushroom harvest time of year. The lake is very densely populated with fish and is also home to breeding birds, such as great crested grebes, mallard ducks and Eurasian reed warblers, plus great reed warblers in the extensive reed beds. From the starting point, the circular walk heads south along the shoreline of the lake, at the southern end of which hikers have a magnificent view right up the entire length of the lake. The path then runs along the north shore. The lake inlet, a body of water connected to Lake Göhlensee, is surrounded by reeds and water meadows. We continue walking in an easterly direction until we reach the cycle path. The path bends to the right and continues to the Wagenburg inn. In addition to normal room rental, guests can also stay overnight in a covered wagon. A camp fire with barbecue facilities creates a sense of Western romanticism for guests. From there, the trail leads west back to the starting point. For an even more special experience, visitors might like to consider a raft trip over the lake. Hiking route:
