Two-country bike tour with fun at the beach
On this day trip by bike, you can enjoy a tour in the Polish countryside and have fun swimming in Lake Borek. The tour starts on the German side and runs along the Oder-Neisse cycle path past the Old Harbour. The course goes in the direction of Coschen. After a short ride, you get to the first stop of the tour, the church of Gross Breesen, with a history dating back to the 14th century. If you head north, you reach Bresinchen and the Kiessee Lake with the first opportunity for a swim. Continue riding in the direction of Coschen/Żytowań over the new Neisse Bridge into Poland. After cycling through the villages in the northern direction, you get to Lake Borek in Kosarzyn, where you can stop for a swim and a snack.
On the way back via Kosarzyn and Żytowań towards Gubin you cross King's Park and pass the Guben stadium. Now you can admire the Old Harbour and the remains of the North Bridge from the Polish side. After a visit to the Theater Island, you return to Germany via the pedestrian bridge. There you get to the last stop of the tour, the Guben Monastery Church, which was named after a Benedictine convent the history of which can be traced back to the 12th century.
