The banks of the River Neiße in Guben, to the north of the weir, were once home to the town’s huge cloth fac­tory, but in 2007 the estate was trans­formed into a green oasis. The ter­races make the River Neiße acces­si­ble for both vis­i­tors and locals in the town cen­tre, with an open view of the sur­round­ings to relax and enjoy. Parts of the old fac­tory walls have been pre­served as relics in the park and have been art­fully inte­grated into the green­ery. There is a direct con­nec­tion between Guben’s Neiße Ter­races and Gubin’s The­atre Island via a pedes­trian bridge, allow­ing vis­i­tors to walk across the island to the his­toric cen­tre of Gubin.
